A pencil drawing of one of the most beautiful reptiles on earth : An Eyelash Pit Viper .

Reference Picture : [link]

Original Size : 35cm x 20.5 cm
Time : about 170-180 hours
Tools : .3mm & .5mm mech pencils , B, 6B, black gel pen, erasers ( pointed , kneaded and regular), blending stumps and soft tissue papers .

Black gel pen has been used only for the pupil, the heat sensing pit and the wound-like distortions on the facial scales.

One of the most challenging drawings I've ever done till now , I hope people like it :)

WOW !!! A 2nd DD !!! :excited: :boogie: :woohoo:

I can truly appreciate the time you have spent on this and the skill you have for pencil work. Rendering photographic depth of field is not easy and you have done it perfectly.

Very nice detail in the scales! Did you map them out beforehand, or add one at a time?

Thank you ! :)
I had to map them out beforehand because if I drew them one by one, the risk of getting the flow of scales incorrect would have been high !:)
